What is the minimum age to be a referee?
Must be 12 years old by December 31st.
Do I need to play hockey to be a referee?
No, but it helps. Knowing the rules and how the game flows makes it easier. Skating ability is very important.
Will I get paid?
Yes! Referees are paid per game, based on the level and age group.
How many games will I get?
That depends on:
- Your availability
- How many refs are needed
Can I still play hockey if I'm a referee?
Yes! Many kids play and ref.
