St. Paul Minor Hockey Scholarship Application

The “St. Paul Minor Hockey Graduation Scholarship” recognizes and rewards a SPMHA player or referee that has shown a commitment to minor hockey in St. Paul, exemplifies the SPMHA values and has committed to continue post-secondary education.

Recipients may only be awarded the scholarship once.

Value: St. Paul Minor Hockey will award up to 3 - $500 scholarships each year.

Deadline: Applications will be accepted May 1st to September 1st of each year.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

• Former or current members of St. Paul Minor Hockey, as a player or referee
• Be in their final year of minor hockey or have graduated no longer than two years prior
• Must have a minimum of 5 years experience within SPMHA
• Demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship and community involvement with SPMHA
• Be enrolled and/or accepted into a post secondary institution/program
• Be in good standing with SPMHA

• Provide one letter of recommendation from a former or current SPMHA coach or Referee in Chief
• Provide a personal reference from a teacher, employer or other person who can speak to the applicant's character and contributions to their school or broader community.

Selection and Notification:

• A committee of the SPMHA Board will review and recommend recipients for selection. Final recipients will be ratified by the SPMHA Executive
• Successful recipients will be notified by March 30
